Just 50 minutes east of Longeveau, the charming town of Brantôme, often nicknamed “the Venice of the Dordogne,” is a stunning riverside destination filled with history and natural beauty.
Nestled along the serene banks of the River Dronne, Brantôme perfectly combines cultural heritage and breathtaking scenery, making it a must-visit spot for those exploring the region.
Visitors can enjoy peaceful walks along the river, cross its iconic stone bridges, and marvel at the town’s beautiful medieval architecture, including the famous Brantôme Abbey, a Benedictine monastery dating back to the 8th century. The abbey’s dramatic cliffs and ancient troglodyte caves add a unique element to the town’s charm, offering a window into the region’s deep history.
For a different perspective, canoe rentals allow visitors to explore Brantôme’s beauty by water, gliding through the calm river and surrounded by lush greenery. The town also boasts a variety of cafés and restaurants, perfect for relaxing and enjoying local delicacies in a tranquil setting.
Whether you’re seeking historical insights, natural beauty, or a peaceful getaway, Brantôme promises an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Dordogne.

We had a superb family holiday here, the staff were brilliant, really helpful, the chalets were clean and well equipped. The views from our chalet were gorgeous. Highly recommended for a French holiday.Posted on Pia-Marie Walters17/07/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We have been here before and honestly we are no family who would go more then once to a place for holiday. This fabulous place is more then one can think about and will us come back for sure. The houses are very nice and big (Lavoir or Emilienne) with own privat pools. Your family can have great time for themselves. When one wants to be more in company there is also a pool for guests to join together. Playing tennis or golf, being at a great playground or even at the bar (drinks and nice dinner option) will make the holiday even more enjoyable. In any moment one should have a question or would like some recommendations for a day trip get in contact with the best Julie (working here). She is very welcome and helps immediately for any request. Stay here and get an amazing holiday.Posted on cyrille combin12/07/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We just wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire team at Manoir de Longeveau for having us perform as singing waiters at your beautiful venue. From the moment we arrived, your staff welcomed us with open arms and made sure we had everything we needed to deliver a smooth and unforgettable surprise for the wedding guests. The coordination, professionalism, and warm hospitality from your team made our job so much easier—and a whole lot of fun! The atmosphere was electric, and it was a real pleasure to be part of such a special event in such a stunning setting. We hope to be back again soon for another round of surprises, smiles, and song. Until then, thank you once again for your support and for trusting us to be part of your celebrations! Bravo. Nous vous recommandons à 100%Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
